Pevely, MO (August 4, 2007) Mother Nature turned up the heat with a very hot and muggy night and the racers responded by turning up the action. A total of 108 race cars in the four divisions filled the pit area. A strong field of twenty-eight U.M.P. DIRTcar Super Late Models came through the gates and provided the fans with some great racing. NASCAR veteran and I-55 Raceway Co-owner Ken Schrader claimed his third late model victory (fifth win overall counting two UMP Modified wins) of the season at I-55 Raceway. Schrader, who finished twenty-fifth in last week's Brickyard 400, also raced every night of the week this past week on dirt tracks all throughout the Midwest in his modified.

Schrader put on a dominate performance in his late model as he started eighth in his qualifying heat race and stormed to a second place finish which gave him a front row pole starting position in the Dash via his passing point accumulation. Schrader proceeded to win the Dash and then led all twenty-five laps of the main event. A great battle ensued for the second spot as Tim Manville, Jeff Johns, Mark Voigt and Bryan Collins battled relentlessly through lapped traffic. At the finish line it was Manville taking second with Johns third. Voigt crossed the line fourth and Collins fifth.

Bobby Martintoni won his second straight and third overall U.M.P. DIRTcar Modified win of the season at I-55 Raceway. Martintoni, who started fifth in the main event, passed some of the best modified drivers in the Midwest as he powered by Ray Walsh to take over the second spot and then on lap thirteen he moved past point leader Bobby Bittle to claim the lead. Martintoni would then pull away and take the victory in the twenty lap main event. Bittle would take the second spot with Walsh third. Joe Purcelli would finish fourth and Doug Wood completed the top five.

Kent Nations also claimed his third feature win of the season at I-55 Raceway in the U.M.P. DIRTcar Sportsman division. Nations led all fifteen laps but had his hands full with Troy Naeger the entire way. Naeger stay glued to Nations rear bumper and tried several pass attempts but Nations proved too strong and earned the victory. Troy Medley would take third with Jimmy Cummins fourth and Tim Hollerbach fifth.

Trey Harris claimed his second U.M.P. DIRTcar Pro 4 Stock main event win. Gary Price was second and Chuck Johnson third.
