Korte, Hancock, Naeger & Mooney take victories at I-55 Raceway!

Randy Korte Tim Hancock CLICK HERE FOR MORE PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY! Pevely, MO (August 16, 2008) Randy Korte of Highland, IL rocketed to another UMP Late Model feature win at I-55 Raceway. Korte paced the field for the entire twenty-five laps. Jeff Johns of Belleville, IL kept the pressure on Korte, especially in the closing laps as the two worked lapped traffic. Johns was able to close right up behind Korte as they worked the lapped cars, but Korte proved too strong and crossed the line just ahead of Johns to earn the victory. Tim Manville finished in the third position with Mark Voigt taking fourth and Bryan Collins fifth.

Dennis Erb pockets $16,000 at I-55 Raceway! Walsh, Bauman & Crump also take victories!

Pevely, MO (August 2, 2008) Forty UMP DIRTcar/Northern All Star Late Models checked in to compete for the $6,000 to win Tri-Track Challenge event at I-55 Raceway. For two drivers, there was a even bigger incentive, Dennis Erb, Jr. and Ken Schrader were set to receive a $10,000 bonus if either of the two could pull off the victory. Schrader had won the first leg of the Tri-Track Challenge at Paducah Int'l Raceway on May 30th and Dennis Erb, Jr. had won the other Tri-Track Challenge event on June 1st at Macon Speedway. Any driver that could win two out of the three Tri-Track Challenge events would pocket the $10,000 bonus.

Billy Faust CLICK HERE FOR MORE PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (July 26, 2008) A stellar field of 121 racecars filled the pit area and a grandstands packed full of people enjoyed a spectacular night of racing. Thirty-two UMP DIRTcar Late Models signed in to compete and they provided the fans with one of the most exciting finishes in recent memory at I-55 Raceway. In the feature event, Michael Kloos jumped out to the early lead from the front row pole starting position. Kloos led the first eleven laps before Mark Voigt slipped by to take over the top spot. Voigt would soon feel the heat from Tim Manville and Billy Faust as the three battled it out at the front of the field. The event attracted another huge turnout at I-55 Raceway as 130 racecars filled the pit area. The event helped raise a lot of money for Special Olympics.

Randy Korte Steve Arpin CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (June 7, 2008) A big field of 134 racecars filled the pit area at I-55 Raceway on a very hot and humid evening. Twenty-nine UMP DIRTcar Late Models were on hand and Randy Korte of Highland, IL was back to compete for the first time since a back injury in February sidelined him. Korte looked stronger than ever as he swept the night's racing events by winning his heat race, the dash and the main event. Korte took the lead at the drop of the green flag and was never seriously challenged in the twenty-five lap main event for the lead. Tim Manville was able to get close as they worked lapped traffic, but Korte would once again pull away once he got cleared of the lapped cars. Korte would take the win by six car lengths …

Collins, Bittle, Herzog, Mooney & McClintock take wins at I-55 Raceway!

Jeff Herzog CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (May 24, 2008) Bryan Collins of Elsberry, MO won his third straight and fourth overall UMP DIRTcar Late Model feature event at I-55 Raceway in 2008. Collins put on a dominating performance as he picked up his second straight win at I-55 Raceway driving the #00 machine owned by Randy Korte. Chad Zobrist of Highland, IL was the only driver able to put up any challenge for the dominate Collins, but his attempt on a late restart came up short as Collins cruised to victory. Tim Manville, also of Highland, IL took the third position. Brian Wolfmeier, making his first visit of 2008 to I-55 Raceway took fourth with Jeff Johns completing the top five.

Collins, Mullins, Naeger, Mooney & Leahy take wins at I-55 Raceway!

Bryan Collins CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (May 3, 2008) On an unusually cold night in May, a great field of 120 racecars were on hand at I-55 Raceway to do battle on the high banked 1/3 mile dirt oval. Two time and defending I-55 Raceway UMP DIRTcar Late Model Champion Bryan Collins of Elsberry, MO captured his second victory of 2008. Collins and Rusty Griffaw had a great battle for the lead during the first half of the main event, but Collins would pull away in the closing laps to claim the victory. The event was marred by a lap two crash in turn three that ended the night for several top competitors who had great runs in their qualifying heat races.
