Dave Blaney claims NASCAR Night Modified win; Will Vaught & Robbie Eilers take Victories!

CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (July 25, 2007) Twelve NASCAR drivers were on hand at I-55 Raceway for the M&M Night of NASCAR Stars charity event. Ken Schrader, Kenny Wallace, Mike Wallace, Dave Blaney, David Reutimann, Phil Parsons, Brendan Gaughan, Jason Leffler, Stephen Leight, Ron Hornaday, Rick Crawford and David Gilliland were on hand and competed against each in a complete race program driving UMP DIRTcar Modifieds. Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer were also scheduled to be on hand, but their flight had to make an emergency landing and they were unable to make it to the event.

Schrader, Horton, Naeger & Fisher takes wins at I-55 Raceway!

CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (July 21, 2007) Ken Schrader returned to his own track and dominated the UMP Late Model main event as he took the victory by a full straight-away over second place finisher Bryan Collins. Meanwhile, Collins had his hands full in a four car battle for the second position. Collins, Tim Ratajczyk, Jeff Johns and Dewayne Kiefer had a tremendous battle for the second spot as they swapped around positions lap after lap. Jeff Johns would claim the third spot behind Collins with Kiefer taking fourth and Ratajczyk fifth.

Korte, Weber, Nations & Fisher take wins at I-55 Raceway’s Race Night for Special Champions!

CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (July 14, 2007) Shop N Save and WIL 92.3 partnered with I-55 Raceway to put on a special event to raise money for the Special Olympics. A large field of cars and a huge fan turnout raised lots of money for the Special Olympics. A field of thirty UMP DIRTcar Late Models were on hand for the $5,000 to win special. In the main event it was Randy Korte of Highland, IL that put on a dominating performance as he lap all but the first eight finishers in the thirty lap main event that went caution free. Korte crossed the finish line with a full half track lead over second place finish Jeff Johns. Tim Ratajczyk started on the pole for the main event after winning his qualifying heat and the dash and would lead the first three laps before Korte …

Ken Schrader takes UMP Modified victory at I-55 Raceway!

CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (July 7, 2007) Kenny Schrader returned to I-55 Raceway for the third time with his U.M.P. Modified and picked up his second feature win. Schrader won his qualifying heat race but the slipped back during the dash and ended up starting the feature event from the fifth position. He immediately began his charge toward the front once the green flag fell and moved past early race leader Bobby Martintoni on lap nine. Schrader would lead the rest of the way to pick up the victory. Martintoni would have his hands full with Paul Bauman as the two battled for the second position the final five laps, but Martintoni would hold on. Mark Miner would cross the line in fourth behind Bauman and Scott Weber completed the top five.

Hard Fought Win for Saldana at I-55 Raceway!

CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO—July 7, 2007–By: Tony Veneziano, World of Outlaws PR Director Joey Saldana earned every penny of the $10,000 he pocketed on Saturday night at I-55 Raceway for winning the fourth event of the “SuperClean Summer of Money” on ESPN2 for the World of Outlaws. After starting on the pole on a very hot and humid night, he lost a couple of positions on the opening lap and found himself in third for the first 17 laps of the race. He then lost another position on the 18th lap to fall to fourth, before working his way back to the front and ultimately making the pass for the lead and the win on Danny Lasoski on the 29th lap.

Collins, Miner, Naeger & Fisher takes victories at I-55 Raceway!

CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (June 30, 2007) I-55 Raceway dodged the rain showers again this week and 121 racecars packed the pit area. In the U.M.P. DIRTcar Late Model division, Bryan Collins dominated the last half of the event after early challenger Craig Smith tangled with a lapped car. Collins had pulled out to the lead early in the event, but Smith closed in as they worked lapped cars. Smith dove under Collins going into turn three on lap fifteen and took the lead but as he exited turn four he made hard contact with the car of Ed Dixon as he tried to put him a lap down and Smith's car got airborne and went over the hood of Dixon's machine which sent Smith into the front stretch wall and Dixon spinning into the inside wall. Mike Marlar takes I-55 Raceway Summer Nationals Victory; Walsh, Nations & Fisher also take wins!

CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (June 23, 2007) Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN led only one lap of the forty lap main event, but it was the money lap as he picked up his second victory in UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals action. Billy Moyer looked strong all night as he started off the night by setting a new track record during qualifying with a time of 12.081 seconds, besting his old track record that he set just three weeks earlier during the UMP DIRTcar Tri-Track Challenge. Moyer started on the pole for the main event and led the first thirty nine laps before surrendering the lead to Marlar.

Collins, Walsh, Medley, Harris & Fisher take wins at I-55 Raceway!

CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (June 16, 2007) Bryan Collins of Elsberry, MO stormed to his second UMP Late Model feature win of the year at I-55 Raceway. Collins held off a late charge by Craig Smith in the closing laps. Billy Laycock crossed the line in third with Ron McQuerry fourth and Danny Haynes fifth. Ray Walsh won his first UMP Modified main event of 2007 at I-55 Raceway. Walsh led wire-to-wire in the main event with Marty Smith, Jr. making a late charge to challenge Walsh in the closing laps. Smith would come up short at the end and settle for second. Point leader Bobby Bittle crossed the line in third with Mark Miner taking fourth and Bobby Martintoni completed the top five.

Ken Schrader takes modified win at his track! Haynes, Harrison, Nations & Fisher also win!

CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (June 9th, 2007) The United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) Modifieds had the fans on their feet most of the night with some thrilling two, three and even four wide racing throughout the night. It was I-55 Raceway co-owner and NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader that topped the forty car field as he just edged out Bobby Bittle and Bobby Martintoni for the win. In one of the best modified features in recent memories, Schrader, Bittle and Martintoni raced three wide for most of the final eight laps. Meanwhile, Mike Harrison, Ray Walsh, Scott Weber and Matt Mevert all staged a battle right behind the top three keeping seven cars running in a tight pack at the front. As they crossed the line, Schrader took the win just ahead of Bittle who was second, Martintoni third, Harrison fourth and Walsh fifth.
