Inside Line Promotions – PEVELY, Mo. (May 27, 2020) – Brian Brown is coming off his best weekend of the season, earning his first podium finish of 2020 last Sunday after recording his third top 10 of the year during World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series competition on Friday.

May 22 – Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo. – Qualifying: 4; Heat race: 1 (2); Dash: 7 (7); Feature: 9 (7).

“It was great to get to race in front of a crowd,” Brown said. “There were 61 drivers so it was probably the toughest field we’ll face all year. The who’s who of our sport was there.

“The night started very well with a top-four effort in qualifying. The heat race was good and we were able to win that to make the dash. It’s always good to get in the dash, but unfortunately we drew the No. 7 and finished there. In the A Main I feel like we were a top-five car, but I made some mistakes as a driver and was on the wrong part of the track. We also made some bad decisions with the car, but we were still able to get a solid ninth-place finish.”

May 23 – Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo. – Qualifying: 9; Heat race: 9 (5); B Main: 2 (1); Feature: 26 (22).

“Saturday featured a very different track condition,” Brown said. “Luckily we were able to qualify ninth quickest. In the heat we tried a few things and were no good. We had to run the Last Chance Showdown and we were solid in it. In the A Main I feel like we were decent, but we got caught toward the back and got lapped early. At that point there was a yellow flag and it trapped us a lap down with no chance of passing other cars. We pulled off to save our stuff for another day.”

May 24 – Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo. – Heat race: 1 (2); Feature: 3 (8).

“There was another great crowd at Lake Ozark,” Brown said. “Knowing we had a big weekend coming up with the Outlaws we wanted to get some laps there. Plus it’s always good to race in front of our local fans and partners. The Goodson Family of Impact Signs, Awnings, Wraps were there with us.

“We won the heat so we had good car speed. Then we started eighth in the A Main and charged our way to the front. After 40 laps we ended third. I felt like we were as good if not a tick better than the top two the last five laps, but we ran out of laps. Dominic (Scelzi) did a great job and Sam (Hafertepe Jr.) is the man to beat right now in the 360s so it was a good night for us.”

UP NEXT – Friday and Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series

“I’m really looking forward to a weekend with the Outlaws again at Lake Ozark with a huge crowd,” Brown said. “Racing with fans is back and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Chad, Nate and my dad did a great job last weekend during a three-day weekend and I’m proud of where we are headed as a team.”
