Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 opens the 2012 racing season this Saturday, March 31st!
By Jimmy DearingFederated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 PR Pevely, MO (March 27th, 2012) - Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 (formerly I-55 Raceway) gets in full swing this Saturday, March 31st with the 2012 season opener. This event will also kick off the weekly series points championship for the 2012 racing season. The weekly racing series will feature five divisions in 2012. The UMP DIRTcar Super Late Models, UMP DIRTcar Modifieds, UMP DIRTcar/AARA Sportsman and UMP DIRTcar/AARA Pro 4 Stocks all return this season. A new division for 2012 will be the UMP DIRTcar/AARA Pure Stock division. Also new for 2012, Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 will utilize transponders for scoring along with a new scoreboard to help fans keep track of the leaders during the races. Two weekly racing events are scheduled to kick off the 2012 season on Saturday, March 31st and Saturday, April 7th before the first big special event comes to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on Saturday, April 14th. That is when "The Greatest Show On Dirt" hits the high banked 1/3 mile dirt oval. The World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series will be on hand for the 17th consecutive year and 23rd year overall. There will be a full summer of racing as Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 with racing every Saturday night through the end of September. Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 is located 30 minutes south of downtown St. Louis and The Gateway Arch on Interstate 55 in Pevely, MO at exits 178 and 180. Tickets for weekly races are only $12 with children ages 12 years old and younger admitted free in the grandstands. Pit gates open at 4pm and grandstand gates open at 5pm. Hotlaps will start at 6:30pm with racing at 7pm.
