June 21, 2003 Results

Pevely, MO (June 21, 2003) Ed Dixon broke a string of bad luck at I-55 Raceway by dominating the U.M.P. Late Model feature event. Dixon took the lead from the outside of the front row and led all twenty five laps to pick up the win. Kevin Gundaker kept the pressure on Dixon until he hit the wall coming out of turn four and lap twenty two, which ended his night. The race was red flagged on lap fifteen when Dean Hoffman climbed the wall in turn one and made one complete flip. Hoffman walked away uninjured from the incident. Kyle Steffens made his best run of the season and charged through the field to claim the second position. Dave Jumper also had his best outing of the season and claimed third. Tim Ratajczyk came home fourth and Brian Wolfmeier fifth. Tom Ratajczyk won his first U.M.P. Modified feature of the season at I-55 Raceway. Ratajczyk and Steve Picou battled for the lead for the first half of the race. Leon Rakers moved up to challenge Ratajczyk for the lead during the final stages of the race, but Rakers had to settle for second. Brian Worley moved up from his eighth place starting spot to claim third. Point leader Ray Walsh continued his steady performances with a fourth place finish. Brian Wolfmeier rounded out the top five. Paul Belken also won his first feature of the season at I-55 Raceway in the AARA Sportsman division. Todd McGraw was able to keep a firm grip on his point lead in this division with a second place finish. Paul Bauman was third, Scott Stuppy fourth and Brian Eaves fifth. U.M.P.
