Oller, Weber, Horton & Springer take I-55 wins! Pevely, MO (September 7, 2002) It was Championship Night in all divisions at I-55 Raceway. In the UMP Late Model division, Mark Oller returned to victory lane by putting on a dominating performance. Oller led all twenty-five laps of the main event. Jeff Leka made his second visit of the season to I-55 in a late model and had a great run to finish second. Ed Dixon recovered from a flat tire on the second lap of the feature and came all the way through the field to finish third. Brian Wolfmeier made a steady run through the field to finish fourth and Brent Kreke made his first trip ever to I-55 and finished fifth. Tim Ratajczyk won the UMP Late Model Season Championship at I-55. Scott Weber continued his impressive season by picking up another win in the UMP Modified divison. Rusty Griffaw battled Weber the entire twenty laps but settled for second. Jeff LeBaube finished on the heels of Griffaw and took third. Dean Hoffman used the top to work his way up from the twelvth starting spot to finish fourth. Eric Mabery rounded out the top five. Weber was also the UMP Modified Season Champion at I-55. Ricky Horton claimed his second straight AARA Sportsman feature. Horton held off this years AARA Sportsman Champion Paul Belken for the win. Belken came home a close second with Todd McGraw finishing third, Ron Imm fourth and Steve Borgetti fifth. Carl Springer, II took the win in the AARA Wannabee class. Springer moved past John Hoffman late in the race to get the win. Hoffman was second and Stan Cain was third.
