Dixon, Weber, Belken & Griffin grab wins! PEVELY, MO (August 4, 2001) Just one week after claiming his 500th feature win of his career at I-55 Raceway, Ed Dixon of Washington, MO dominated the UMP Late Model feature event to pick up his second straight win at I-55 Raceway and his 502nd of his career. Dixon started on the outside of the front row and led all twenty-five laps to pick up the victory. Mark Oller, Kevin Gundaker and Steve Shive battled side-by-side for second spot. Each took turns holding on to the second spot before Gundaker was able to take control and finish second. Oller came home third with Shive and Tim Ratajczyk completing the top five. UMP Modified points leader Scott Weber increased his point lead by claiming yet another feature win. Weber battled early on with Ray Wagner and Rich Whaley for the lead but both of those cars suffered mechanical problems and that let Tom Ratajczyk move up and challenge Weber. Ratajczyk took the lead from Weber briefly but Weber battled back and pulled away to pick up the win. Rusty Griffaw moved up from his eleventh starting position to finish third. Brian Wolfmeier and Tom Seets rounded out he top five. Paul Belken continued his great season in the AARA Sportsman division. Belken, who has won eight of the fifteen sportsman features this season, led all fifteen laps to take the win. Troy Naeger made a late race challenge for the lead but came up just short at the finish line and settled for second. Brian Worley was third, Todd McGraw fourth and Dan Dixon came from the twenty-first starting spot to finish fifth. Robert Griffin passed his brother John Griffin half way through the Southern Missouri Dwarf Car Association feature to pick up the win. Mike Province, Todd Williams and Dennis Martin filled out the top five. Dennis Martin and Ron Wick won the qualifying heats.
