Pevely, MO (July 10, 2004) A full house of 109 racecars checked in to compete in the four divisions on a hot and muggy night at I-55 Raceway. The track started the night off with a moment of silence for Bob Memmer, founder of U.M.P. (United Midwestern Promoters), who passed away earlier this week. That was followed by a night of racing that Bob Memmer would be proud of, with exciting side-by-side racing all night long. Ken Schrader popped in for a surprise visit to race his U.M.P. Late Model. Pevely, MO (June 19, 2004) Clay Baumann has been racing late models for the past seven years and had never won a feature event until last Saturday night at I-55 Raceway. After getting the monkey off his back last week, Baumann came back this week and claimed his second straight U.M.P.(United Midwestern Promoters) Late Model feature win at I-55 Raceway. For the second straight week Baumann had to pass the very tough veteran Kevin Gundaker to earn the win. Gundaker took the lead on the opening lap and led the first eighteen laps. But once Gundaker got into lapped traffic, Baumann closed the gap quickly and then moved around Gundaker on the high side. Justin Allgaier moved past Gundaker on the next lap and began to chase down Baumann for the lead. Allgaier caught Baumann with just two laps to go, but Allgaier got into the left rear of Baumann …
