Pevely, MO (September 3, 2005) Tim Ratajczyk of Columbia, IL cruised to victory in the closing laps of the UMP Late Model main event as he crossed the finish line a full straight away ahead of the second place finisher. Ed Dixon assumed the lead on the opening lap from his front row pole starting position and fought off the challenges of Denny Woodworth and Jeff Johns for the first ten laps. Ratajczyk found the fast line right around the bottom of the track and moved in to challenge Dixon on lap ten. Dixon moved to the very top but would get into the wall in turn three which appeared to cause enough damage to take him out of contention for the lead allowing Ratajczyk to pull away in the closing laps. August 27, 2005 Results

Pevely, MO (August 27, 2005) Brian Shirley of Chatham, IL took the lead from his front row outside starting position on the opening lap of the UMP Late Model main event and never looked back. Shirley led all twenty-five laps despite being persistantly challenged by the defending champion and current UMP Late Model National Point Leader Rodney Melvin. Melvin who had passed Shirley earlier in their qualifying heat to take that win, was unable to move past Shirley in the main event and settled for a second place finish. Matt Taylor took the third spot. Brian Wolfmeier and Dave Jumper completed the top five. Randy Korte and Billy Faust were moving their way to the front as they had climbed to the fourth and fifth spots before Korte spun and collected Faust. August 20, 2005 Results

Pevely, MO (August 20, 2005) Denny Woodworth of Quincy, IL won his first ever UMP Late Model feature at I-55 Raceway in grand style. Woodworth started on the pole for the main event after winning his qualifying heat and the dash, but it would be Ed Dixon taking the lead on the opening lap from the outside front row starting position. The caution flag would fly on lap two as Scott Gaeschel, Rich Lawson and Steven Unterbrink tangled in turn one. Dixon would pull to the infield during the caution as he suffered a flat left rear tire, forcing him to the tail end of the twenty cars remaining for the restart. Woodworth assumed the lead on the restart and had to fight for the lead all twenty-four laps that remained in the main event. August 6, 2005 Results

Pevely, MO (August 5, 2005) Side by side battles for the lead were the order of the day in all classes at I-55 Raceway. In the UMP Late Model division, Ed Dixon and Tim Ratajczyk provided the fans with a classic and memorable duel. The two started side by side on the front row and raced side by side for most of the event, exchanging the lead on numerous occassions. Ratajczyk hugged the low side while Dixon banged his car off the big dirt cushion on the top side. After a late caution with just five laps remaining, Dixon made an adjustment to his car's brakes from within the cockpit which improved his car's handling even more and he was able to power his way to the win. Pevely, MO (August 3, 2005) The M&M Night of Stars at I-55 Raceway was another huge success. A huge crowd was on hand to meet the NASCAR stars and to watch the racing action. Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Martin Truex, Jr., Kenny Wallace, Carl Edwards, Casey Mears, Bobby Hamilton, Sr., Jimmy Spencer, Dave Blaney and Ken Schrader all signed autographs for about two hours and then participated in a match race in UMP Modifieds around the 1/3 mile high banked dirt oval. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. worked as the flagman for the special race and Jimmy Spencer made contact with the outside wall during the practice session and was unable to run the race due to damage to his car. The match race was run in two segments and Carl Edwards powered the Dirt Works Race Cars built machine normally driven by Gary Clark to victory in the first segment. The second …

Korte, Walsh, Bauman & Geary get victories at I-55 Raceway! Pevely, MO (July 30, 2005) Randy Korte led all twenty-five laps of the main event enroute to victory in the UMP Late Model division at I-55 Raceway. Ed Dixon battled throughout the event with Korte, but was unable to get along side him and followed him across the line in second. Matt Taylor fought with Dixon and Tim Ratajczyk for most of the early going for the second spot and came home in third. Ratajczyk brought home the fourth position and Billy Faust rounded out the top five. NASCAR star Ken Schrader was unable to start the feature event after a hard crash with Craig Smith in the dash. Terry English MORE PHOTOS FROM I-55 RACEWAY Pevely, MO (July 23, 2005) I-55 Raceway along with the great sponsors Shop N' Save, WIL 92.3 FM, Prairie Farms, Nabisco, Midwest Diary Association, Arm & Hammer and Freschetta Pizza put on a great event to help raise money for Special Olympics. A $5,000 payday was on the line for the winner of the UMP Late Model event. Terry English of Benton, KY took home the big payday as he held off Tim Ratajczyk early and then fought off the challenges of Kevin Weaver late in the event. As the leaders battled through lapped traffic, Weaver, who started on the outside of the third row, was able to pull even with English on several occassions, but each time English was able to power back into the lead. Ratajczyk, who started fifth and battled with English and Weaver throughout the event settled for the …

Kemenah Earns His First World of Outlaws Sprint Series Victory Pevely, MO — July 9, 2005 — By Chris Dolack, World of Outlaws Senior Writer Car after car tried to knock down the wall in Turns 1 and 2 Saturday night at I-55 Raceway, but the wall took a defiant stand and threw every car back onto the track, some upright and some not. Chad Kemenah and Donny Schatz didn’t chance it. Instead, they set up their cars to work on the bottom of the high-banked 1/3-mile oval. While Shane Stewart started on the pole and powered his way along the cushion, which in some spots was the concrete fence, Kemenah and Schatz tip-toed along the very bottom and found themselves finishing first and second. Pevely, MO (July 2, 2005) Randy Korte of Highland, IL put on a dominating performance as he claimed the $10,000 first place prize by winning the UMP Summer Nationals at I-55 Raceway. Korte set fast time during qualifying and then won the dash to earn the pole position for the main event. Korte took the lead at the drop of the green flag and set the pace for all forty laps. Rodney Melvin challenged Korte for the lead early but had his hands full with Shannon Babb for most of the event. Babb, who started in the sixth position, quickly moved into the third spot but couldn't find his way past Melvin and rode to a third place finish behind Korte and Melvin. Jeep VanWormer took the fourth spot with Brian Birkhofer finishing fifth. Bobby Bittle of Belleville, IL roared to victory in the UMP Modified division. Bittle battled with …

June 25, 2005 Results

Pevely, MO (June 25, 2005) Tim Ratajczyk of Columbia, IL grabbed his first UMP Late Model victory of the 2005 season at I-55 Raceway. Ratajczyk was able to completely sweep the action as he won his qualifying heat, the dash and the main event. Ratajczyk paced all twenty-five laps of the main event as held off two other I-55 Raceway veterans to earn the win. Mark Oller chased Ratajczyk around the bottom of the track for all twenty-five laps but could never make a serious challenge on Ratajczyk for the lead and settled for the second spot. Ed Dixon roared around the top of the track for most of the event, banging off the cushion on the top as he crossed the line in third.
