Pevely, MO (May 7, 2005) A full field of twenty-six UMP (United Midwestern Promoters) Late Models signed in at the gate to compete at I-55 Raceway. Billy Faust started on the pole for the main event and rocketed into the lead when the green flag dropped. Faust opened up a half straight-away lead early on in the event. A couple of early caution periods would keep the field together and after a restart on lap twelve, Justin Allgaier found the right line around the 1/3 mile oval and wrestled the lead away from Faust. Allgaier, from Riverton, IL was able to open a small lead and then held off the challenges of Ed Dixon late in the race to earn the win. Allgaier, who runs a limited schedule in the ARCA and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, took advantage of some time off on the pavement to run this event. This was Allgaier's second visit of 2005 to the I-55 Raceway and he has claimed the win both times he's visited. Tim Ratajczyk rolled across the line in third, with Matt Taylor finishing fourth and Faust held on to finish fifth. John Anderson of Omaha, NE visited I-55 Raceway for his first time ever and had a solid eighth place run.

Scott Weber ended his string of misfortunes in the UMP Modified division as he led all twenty laps of the main event to earn the victory. Weber became the fifth different winner in the five UMP Modified events ran this season at I-55 Raceway. Mark Miner, who started all the way back in the twelfth position, worked his way through traffic and was trying to chase down Weber but ran out of laps and settled for the second position. Rich Whaley, who had chased Weber early in the event, took the third spot. Brent Mullins also had a strong run through the field as he started in the fifteenth position and came across the finish line in fourth. Dennis Richards kept his machine running toward the front all night and took the fifth position.

Paul Bauman claimed the AARA Sportsman main event. Bauman battled with longtime Sportsman veteran Paul Belken for most all of the fifteen laps in the main event. Bauman took the win and Mike Nicholson slipped past Belken on the last lap to take the second position. Belken settled for third and Bob Schmidt finished fourth in his first visit of 2005. Scott Stuppy rounded out the top five.

Mike McMullen swept the AARA Pro 4 Stock division as he won his qualifying heat and took the main event win as well. It was McMullen's first ever win at I-55 Raceway. Conrad Miner took the second position and Roger Ernst came home third.
