Randy Korte claims Ken Schrader Modified Challenge at I-55 Raceway!

Pevely, MO (October 24, 2009) Randy Korte of Highland, Illinois claimed his second UMP DIRTcar Ken Schrader Modified Challenge at I-55 Raceway this year. Korte also took the win back on July 29th during the makeup of last year’s event that was postponed by rain. Seventy-three UMP DIRTcar Modifieds were on hand on what turned out to be a beautiful Saturday afternoon race. The fans that were on hand were treated to a spectacular main event in which three different drivers led during the forty lap affair.

Will Vaught claims MARS/UMP Challenge event; Schrader, Mosier & Fisher also take wins!

Pevely, MO (August 29, 2009) Will Vaught from Crane, Missouri claimed the $5,000 winner's share of the MARS/UMP Challenge event at I-55 Raceway. Vaught topped the thirty-two car field of Super Late Models as he led all forty laps of the main event. Vaught started on the pole and battled early with Bryan Collins for the lead. Collins pressured Vaught for the first fifteen laps as he could pulled along side him through the corners on the low side, but couldn't successfully make the pass. Vaught would then open up a small lead over Collins, meanwhile Randy Korte had begun his charge through the field after starting tenth. Dennis Erb and Bill Frye were also on the move toward the front. Collins, Erb and Frye were locked into a battle for the second spot …

Pevely, MO (August 22nd, 2009) A full field of twenty-six UMP Late Models checked in the gate for competition and Brian Shirley of Chatham, Illinois raced to his second UMP Late Model feature win of 2009 at I-55 Raceway. The event was marred by a couple of big crashes, the first which happended on the opening lap when Shirley, who started on the outside of the front row, got sideways exiting turn two and made contact with Jeff Johns. That triggered a train reaction crash behind them that damaged several cars. Jeff Johns and Bryan Collins both had to go to the pit area for repairs as they both are also in a battle for the track championship. Both were able to return before the race restarted. Korte, Hancock, Medley and McGinnitey take wins at I-55 Raceway!

Pevely, MO (August 15th, 2009) A large field of 114 racecars filled the pit area in the four divisions for the 2nd Annual Jim Woodrum Memorial presented by Michael Woodrum RE/MAX Realty. Randy Korte of Highland, Illinois was in a class of his own in the UMP DIRTcar Super Late Model division. The twenty-five lap main event went the entire distance caution-free and Korte finished the event with well over a half-track lead over second place and had all except the second through fifth place finishers at least one lap down. Korte exited turn four to take the checkered flag as the second through fifth place competitors were entering turn one after taking the white flag. Pevely, MO— August 8, 2009—Joey Saldana made history in a couple of ways on Saturday night winning the inaugural Ironman 55 at I-55 Raceway in Pevely Missouri before a huge crowd, to take home the $20,000 top prize. In addition to putting his name in the record books as the first ever victor in the Ironman 55, he also scored his 13th triumph of the season which set a new career high for him with the World of Outlaws.

What a Race: Dollansky Wins Opener of Ironman 55 in a Thriller over Sides & Schatz

Craig Dollansky Pevely, MO— August 7, 2009—I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri certainly lived up to its name on Friday night as being one of the raciest tracks on the World of Outlaws circuit. Craig Dollansky, Jason Sides and Donny Schatz battled for the win on the high-banked 1/3-mile bullring down the stretch with Dollansky prevailing in a thrilling 30-lap contest to open to the Ironman 55 weekend at the track located just outside of St. Louis, Missouri. Dollansky led the race early before Donny Schatz got around him on the 16th lap to take the point in lapped traffic. On the 25th lap, Dollansky went high off of turn four and nearly took the lead as the front pair charged down the front straightaway. He then took the top spot in turns one and two on the very next lap, with Sides closing in as well and the trio running …
