PEVELY, Mo. — Oct. 18, 2008 — Brian Shirley, Randy Korte and Will Vaught put on a show in the finale of the UMP DIRTcar Roundup By MyRaceLife.com that nobody in attendance at I-55 Raceway will soon forget. In the last race of the inaugural event dubbed as the Party in Pevely, Shirely came out on top of a breathtaking three-wide Super Late Model battle with Thursday feature winner Vaught and Friday feature winner Korte. The three drivers raced three-wide for the final 10 laps before Shirley used the momentum on the top side of the 1/3-mile high-banked oval to grab the checkered flag.

UMP DIRTcar 4-Cylinder driver Jason Crump, of Festus, Mo., earned a Roundup belt buckle and the first 2008 polished steel champions’ plate of the event. Two races later, Danny Ems, of Arnold, Mo., drove to victory in the UMP DIRTcar Factory Stock division to also collect a Roundup belt buckle and champions’ plate.

Pevely, MO (October 4, 2008) Gary Haynes of Arnold, MO won the biggest race of his career on October 4th when he won the 7th Annual Allied Auto Racing Association's (AARA) Fall Dirt Nationals "Bud Pohle Memorial". With seventy-five AARA/UMP DIRTcar Sportsman cars on hand for the event, just qualifying for the twenty-six car starting field was an accomplishment. Russell Eilers took the lead at the drop of the green flag and would lead the first twenty-four laps of the fifty lap main event. Kent Nations kept the pressure on Eilers for the first sixteen laps as the two raced side-by-side for much of the first sixteen laps, with Eilers pulling ahead down the straight-aways while Nations would pull along side him through the turns. Dennis Erb wins MARS/UMP Challenge Event; Walsh, Herzog & Buechting also claim victories at I-55

Pevely, MO (August 23, 2008) Dennis Erb, Jr. of Carpentersville, IL won his second big event this month at I-55 Raceway as he edged out Missouri's Terry Phillips in the UMP/MARS Clash that payed $5,000 to the winner. Erb won the Tri-Track Challenge earlier this month at I-55 Raceway and pocketed $16,000 for that win which included a $10,000 bonus. Erb got the lead from Phillips on lap nine and it appeared he was going to run away with the win, but Phillips, who faded all the way back to fourth at one point, came on strong in the closing laps and actually took the lead from Erb. But Erb fought back on the low side of Phillips to get the lead back and held on for a very close victory at the line. Billy Moyer crossed the …
