Pevely, MO (November 12, 2005) Scott Weber of Festus, MO was on a mission Saturday night at I-55 Raceway and he simply put on a driving clinic on how to get around the high banked one-third mile oval during the SHOP N SAVE Ken Schrader Modified Challenge. Weber payed a special tribute to fellow racer and friend Dean Motsinger who was tragically killed just two weeks earlier by changing his car number from his familiar 4J to 44J. Motsinger had run the #44 UMP Late Model at I-55 Raceway for the past several seasons. Weber took Dean Motsinger's young son for a pace lap around the track during opening ceremonies as the track remembered Dean Motsinger. Weber got off to a rough start in his heat race as he broke a tie rod on the left front and finished in tenth place in the tenth heat race. There were five …

Pevely, MO (September 10, 2005) Brian Shirley of Chatham, IL rolled to his fourth UMP Late Model main event win of the 2005 racing season at I-55 Raceway. Shirley took off from his front row pole starting position and pulled away from the pack early in the event. A caution on lap eight tightened up the field and set the stage for a great battle for the top spot as Billy Faust moved in and battled with Shirley. Faust stayed right on Shirley's bumper as the two worked lapped traffic. Both preferred the high side as they rode the cushion around the outside wall. However, disaster struck for Faust on lap eighteen as he jumped the cushion in turn four and his car climbed the outside wall with the right side tires causing his car to flip over onto it's left side and then onto it's roof and back over …

Pevely, MO (September 3, 2005) Tim Ratajczyk of Columbia, IL cruised to victory in the closing laps of the UMP Late Model main event as he crossed the finish line a full straight away ahead of the second place finisher. Ed Dixon assumed the lead on the opening lap from his front row pole starting position and fought off the challenges of Denny Woodworth and Jeff Johns for the first ten laps. Ratajczyk found the fast line right around the bottom of the track and moved in to challenge Dixon on lap ten. Dixon moved to the very top but would get into the wall in turn three which appeared to cause enough damage to take him out of contention for the lead allowing Ratajczyk to pull away in the closing laps. Dixon would be unable to hold on to the second spot as Danny Haynes moved in around the …

Woodworth started on the pole for the main event after winning his qualifying heat and the dash, but it would be Ed Dixon taking the lead on the opening lap from the outside front row starting position. Dixon would pull to the infield during the caution as he suffered a flat left rear tire, forcing him to the tail end of the twenty cars remaining for the restart.
