Pevely, MO (June 12, 2004) There was rain all around the area but Mother Nature held off and allowed for some great action at I-55 Raceway. Clay Baumann took his first ever U.M.P. (United Midwestern Promoters) Late Model feature win. Kevin Gundaker looked to be the man to beat early on as he jumped out to the early lead, but Baumann chased him down and the two swapped the lead back and fourth until the first caution came out on lap nineteen. Baumann and Gundaker battled side-by-side for the next four laps before Baumann was able to move ahead for the final two laps. Baumann went on to earn his first late model victory. Gundaker crossed the line in second, while Ed Dixon worked his way through the field for a third place finish. Mark Gansmann gave a strong showing with a fourth place finish, while Jeff Johns took home fifth. Mark Miner piloted Ken Schrader's Federated Auto Parts late model to a sixth place finish.

Ron Sensel made his first appearance of 2004 at I-55 Raceway and he earned the Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealer's Hard Charger Award with his ninth place finish.

Scott Weber continued his dominance over a very tough U.M.P. Modified field. Weber started the main event in tenth place but was leading the event before the halfway mark. Weber cruised on and picked up the win. Six cars battled for second place with Bobby Bittle taking the spot, but not without contraversy, Bittle and Brian Wolfmeier made contact down the back straightaway late in the race which ended with Wolfmeier spinning. Tom Ratajczyk led the early laps of the main event and went on to a strong third place finish. Brian Worley came home fourth and Eric Mabery was fifth. Ray Walsh put on a show of his own as he came from the twenty-second starting position to finish sixth.

Bobby Bittle earned the G&M Steel Dash for Cash by winning the U.M.P. Modified Dash.

Paul Bauman took the lead from Ricky Horton on lap six of the AARA Sportsman main event and never looked back. Bauman went on to take the win with Horton finishing second. Troy Naeger brought his Hemi powered Dodge Intrepid from deep in the starting lineup to finish third. Mike Nicholson had has best outing of the season and finished fourth. David Bardin completed the top five.

Homer Mooney led from start to finish to earn the victory in the AARA Pro 4 Stock division. Pat Brewer held off Don Hoffman to earn the second spot. Dave Heinrichs followed Hoffman across the line to finish fourth and Bob Price rounded out the top five.
