Pevely, MO (August 20, 2005) Denny Woodworth of Quincy, IL won his first ever UMP Late Model feature at I-55 Raceway in grand style. Woodworth started on the pole for the main event after winning his qualifying heat and the dash, but it would be Ed Dixon taking the lead on the opening lap from the outside front row starting position. The caution flag would fly on lap two as Scott Gaeschel, Rich Lawson and Steven Unterbrink tangled in turn one. Dixon would pull to the infield during the caution as he suffered a flat left rear tire, forcing him to the tail end of the twenty cars remaining for the restart. Woodworth assumed the lead on the restart and had to fight for the lead all twenty-four laps that remained in the main event. Dave Jumper battled with Woodworth for the lead in the early stages of the main event before giving way to Tim Ratajczyk. Ratajczyk and Woodworth raced side-by-side for ten laps, swapping the lead back and fourth through each turn until Ratajczyk clipped the inside wall with the left front wheel of his machine. The contact would sideline Ratajczyk as the damage to his car was too significant to continue. Danny Haynes then moved up to challenge Woodworth for the lead, but Haynes soon gave way to Dixon, who roared through the field and took the second spot with just three laps remaining. Dixon was able to pull right up on the back bumper of Woodworth, but couldn't make the pass and Woodworth went on to victory. Dixon took the second spot with Haynes third, Mark Oller fourth and Jeff Johns fifth.

Matt Goulden brought home a hard fought UMP Modified victory as held off a stellar field of competitors. Ray Walsh battled with Goulden for the first half of the event, as he and Goulden raced side-by-side for several laps. Walsh soon found trouble as he jumped the cushion in turn four and made hard contact with the outside retaining wall which ended his night. Chris Simmerman took over the second spot and stayed glued to the back bumper of Goulden, but it was Goulden crossing the line first to earn the win. Simmerman took second and Mark Miner, Brian Wolfmeier and Rusty Griffaw rounded out the top five. Jim Shereck picked up the Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealers Hard Charger Award as he finished in the seventh position after starting in the twenty-first position.

Troy Naeger slipped by Scott Stuppy with just three laps remaining to earn the AARA Sportsman win. Stuppy had lead the first twelve laps before Naeger found the faster line on the low side. Tom Smallwood also moved past Stuppy as they came out of turn four on the final lap to take the second spot. Kent Nations and Ronnie Bader crossed the line after Stuppy to take the fourth and fifth spots.

Conrad Miner returned after four weeks off in the AARA Pro 4 Stock division and continued right where he left off. Miner had to serve a four week suspension after refusing a claim on his car after he had won the main event four weeks ago. Miner led from wire-to-wire to earn the win, Chris Fisher took the second spot and Dustin Korte third.
