Pevely, MO (August 2, 2006) The 4th Annual M&M's NASCAR Night of Stars at I-55 Raceway treated fans to a great night of racing and allowed the fans to get autographs from ten different NASCAR stars. Then, as a special treat to the fans, the eight of the ten NASCAR stars suited up and went head to head in UMP Modifieds in two separate ten lap heat races. David Reutimann set the pace in the first race, he grabbed the lead early on and then looked like a seasoned dirt veteran as he checked out on the field. Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace battled in out for the second spot as they swapped the position several times in the final few laps. Steven Wallace found tough luck in the first heat as he twisted a driveshaft into after making contact with spinning Brendan Gaughan.

In the second heat race for the NASCAR stars, the lead was swapped on several occassions as Rick Crawford and Matt Kensath battled for the top spot early on. Then, the dirt veterans moved into contention. Those of course being Kenny Wallace and Ken Schrader. Wallace finally got past Crawford when his car jumped the big dirt cushion in turns three and four. Schrader soon moved by as well and tried to run Wallace down, but Wallace proved too strong and earned the win in the second heat.

The were two divisions there to compete in regular dirt action. The UMP Late Model division provided a big battle up front for the entire twenty-five lap main event. Clay Baumann lead the opening lap of the main event after winning his qualifying heat and the dash, but found trouble on the back stretch on lap two after several of the leaders made contact. Baumann's night ended after contact with the back stretch wall. The rest of the twenty-four laps that remained saw Matt Taylor and Brian Shirley put on a true dog fight for the lead. There were slide-jobs and slight contact between the two on several occassions, but they continued to battle the entire way as they swapped the lead on several occassions. In the end, Matt Taylor found the checkered flag first as he used the high side to hold off Shirley. Chad Zobrist took the third spot. Billy Faust claimed fourth and Danny Haynes rounded out the top five. NASCAR star and track co-owner Ken Schrader took the sixth position, even after finding some trouble himself in turns one and two as he climbed the wall with the right side of his car around the half way point.

Brandon Wimmer took the Sprint Car victory after the lead was swapped several times by different drivers during the twenty-five lap caution free event. Wimmer needed just under 7 minutes to complete all twenty-five laps around the fast 1/3 mile oval. Joey Montgomery took the second spot, Tommy Worley was third, Steve Short fourth and Tim Montgomery fifth.
